ARTEMISAGENT SERVICES LLCABOUT VINCENT GUGLIELMO
A little Southern, a little Northern, and an independent broker who learned insurance from the other side of the paperwork.
I grew up in Kentucky and eventually returned to New York City. My connection to the Commonwealth did not end when I changed addresses.
In November 2022, I was injured on the job. I lived on two-thirds of my wages and went approximately three and a half years without accepting a workers’ compensation settlement check. I needed work I could do remotely, so I taught myself insurance and became licensed.
I started with a field marketing organization, then cut ties and built an independent business. In New York, I hold both broker and agent authority. I operate without an upline.
I also spent about five years on Kentucky Medicaid. Public coverage, commercial insurance, and a disputed workers’ compensation claim were not abstract subjects. They were part of everyday life.
When the workers’ compensation case finally settled, the amount exceeded six figures. I reinvested part of it in the business, and the experience gave me a practical understanding of how much coverage matters when someone actually has to depend on it.
Read the workers’ compensation storyMost of my client relationships are centered in the Kentucky, Indiana, and Virginia region. I maintain strong ties to the Commonwealth of Kentucky and return once or twice a month for industry conferences, meetings, and dinners.
New York is home. Kentucky remains an important part of my personal and professional life. That combination shapes the way I work: direct conversation, personal service, and a willingness to stay with the details.
I work in photography and direct an art gallery. I am also a thoroughly mediocre chess player. Looking closely, asking questions, and occasionally reconsidering a bad move all have their uses.
Text messages and email are usually the easiest way to reach me. Phone calls are welcome.

(813) 613-9517Covered the Breonna Taylor protests for three days as a marked press photographer, living down the street from them. Louisville Magazine ran a profile the same year.
Eviction filed against me the day the CDC's federal moratorium took effect. Counsel: Michael Lawrence. I stayed.
A lender, represented by Stoll Keenon Ogden, foreclosed on a property I'd put months of labor into. Two days before they filed, I recorded a mechanic's lien at the deed room myself. I represented myself through the case: one amended answer, a binder of exhibits A through Z, and a receiver motion defeated at motion hour by phone, while working at a grocery store. They filed a dozen motions. None of mine were struck. The court entered a protective order on the property. The property's owner, a separate party, was later sentenced to more than nine years in federal prison for bank fraud and money laundering. DOJ release
The mansion that housed the gallery for three years closed after a fire. Counsel: Michael Marks. We negotiated the exit. The gallery moved to New York.
A neck injury on the job turned into a three-and-a-half-year claim against a national claims administrator. Counsel: Stephanie Wolfinbarger, on contingency. It settled. Watching that process from the inside is why I became an independent insurance broker. I know what the other side of a claim looks like because I lived on it.
Came home.
I lived in Louisville for most of my adult life, and people still ask me who to call there. These are the people I'd call. I take no referral fees.
Joseph D. Gaines, Attorney at Law, P.S.C.
General practice, Louisville: personal injury, employment, bankruptcy, Social Security disability. If you're a Kentucky small-business owner and don't know where to start, start here.
Cotton Wolfinbarger & Associates, PLLC
Workers' compensation, Louisville. She took my claim on contingency and saw it through to the end. If you were hurt at work in Kentucky and the adjuster stopped calling you back, talk to her before you sign anything.
The Schafer Law Office
Real estate disputes, landlord-tenant, mediation and arbitration, Louisville. In 2020, the day the COVID eviction moratorium took effect, my landlord filed to put me out anyway. Michael held the line. I stayed. If your landlord thinks the rules don't apply to him, call Michael.
Wetterer & Clare
Real estate, landlord-tenant, and evictions, Louisville. My gallery's first home was a Gilded Age mansion in Old Louisville that had been a funeral parlor, a barber college, and a ghost-tour stop before it was a gallery. When it closed after a fire in 2022, Michael negotiated our exit with the owner. It ended at a table, not in a courtroom. If a property situation in Kentucky has gotten complicated, call him.
Life insurance and investment referrals.
Hotel Zone, Cancún. Dr. Hugo Zamora.
This is my dentist. I had a full-mouth restoration done here, and I fly down about every six months for follow-up. It's a three-day appointment, not a vacation: airport pickup, the clinic, the hotel across the boulevard, home. If a client asks me whether dental tourism is a scam, this is the clinic I send them to. Not affiliated. I pay full price.
